Manulife Vietnam champions growing importance of health, wellness & convenience

In Vietnam, there has a growing consumer demand for health-centric solutions and digital experiences.

As the pandemic continues to raise awareness around the importance of health and wellness, Manulife Vietnam is encouraging consumers to take a fresh look at life insurance by addressing growing demand from an increasingly health-conscious public.

Combining technology and health with the offer of convenience, Manulife Vietnam is finding new ways to shine a light on the benefits of insurance that takes into account today’s current climate and evolving lifestyles.

ManulifeMOVE - the digital health enabler

Accessible digital healthcare and medical consultation

Innovative new partnerships with healthcare providers eDoctor and WellCare are already helping Manulife Vietnam provide a wide variety of new benefits and services, while also delivering digital and personalized experiences that focus on convenience.

From onboarding new customers to servicing their ongoing needs, Manulife Vietnam is looking to address various touchpoints throughout the customer journey as part of their digital health revolution. This renewed focus is giving insurers the chance to step into a new role as health advocates.

“In Vietnam we are seeing growing consumer demand for health-centric solutions and digital experiences. By focusing on convenience and addressing these needs throughout the customer journey, Manulife Vietnam is looking to play a more significant role in supporting people’s health and lifestyle needs,” said Naren Baliga, Chief Operating Officer at Manulife Vietnam.

Delivered in partnership with eDoctor, Manulife Vietnam is already reimagining the medical underwriting process for new customers by removing the need to visit a hospital. The recently launched home paramedical service offers eligible customers the chance to receive a medical examination in the safety and comfort of their own home, a feature greatly valued in today’s current climate.

Initially rolled out across Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi and Danang, the service will be expanded to other locations and offer even more customers wider access to experiences such as the home medical check-up.

ManulifeMOVE - the digital health enabler

Manulife Vietnam has also extended the functionality of its ManulifeMOVE app by partnering with WellCare, creating an all-in-one health ecosystem that is easily accessible for all users.

As the popular platform enables users to make healthier lifestyle choices, ManulifeMOVE plans to offer customers access to end-to-end healthcare services such as online doctor, tele-medicine, and tele-pharmacy.

A new in-app feature has also been launched on ManulifeMOVE exclusively for Manulife Vietnam customers that gives them direct access to their medical card. In addition, the feature offers increased convenience by helping customers to find their nearest direct billing hospital.

“During this time, the health and wellness of our customers and the community continues to be a top priority. At Manulife Vietnam, we are always looking for new ways to enable healthy living and engage with our customers by making health simple and accessible,” said Marilyn Wang, Chief Marketing Officer for Manulife Vietnam.

ManulifeMOVE is available for all Vietnamese to use, both customers and non-customers of Manulife. The platform was recognized at the Global CSR Awards 2021, taking home platinum top honors in the Product Excellence category.

“By better understanding the habits of our customers and the community we can better tailor our solutions to meet their evolving digital and health needs,” added Marilyn.

Making hospitalization & claims a more convenient experience

Customers participating in pre-authorization for inpatient benefits can safely receive appropriate treatment plans at medical facilities with peace of mind that their claims will be settled directly by Manulife Vietnam.

This latest enhancement to the customer experience will take some of the worry out of hospitalization by helping people avoid unnecessary costs and paperwork, allowing them to instead focus on their treatment and recovery.

Manulife Vietnam also recently upgraded their eClaims platform, an innovative digital solution that allows users to submit a claim online in as little as a minute.

The upgrade allows all claims benefits to be submitted online, delivers improved backend automation technology and a refreshed user interface.

Manulife has a vision to become the premier, digital and customer centric life insurance company in Vietnam.
