Shares correct as large-caps falter

Shares retreated on Friday morning trade on the declined of heavy-weight stocks.

 

The benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE) decreased by 0.37 per cent, to 1,348.06 points. The market breadth was neutral as 96 stocks climbed while 267 declined.

Multiple large-cap stocks lost ground such as Bảo Việt Holdings (BVH), Hoà Phát Group (HPG), Masan Group (MSN), Vingroup (VIC), Vinamilk (VNM), Vincom Retail (VRE), PVPower (POW), Vinhomes (VHM) and Mobile World Group (MWG).

The VN30-Index, which tracks 30 biggest stocks in market capitalisation on the southern market, lost 0.1 per cent to 1,475.62 points.

Of the VN30 basket, 6 stocks jumped while 23 slid, and one stayed unchanged.

The HNX-Index on the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX) also declined this morning, down 0.32 per cent to 333.25 points.
