Shares shrink on weak sentiment

Shares extended loss on Thursday morning amid weak sentiment on complicated COVID-19 disease, pressuring indices with low liquidity.

 

On the Hồ Chí Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), the benchmark VN-Index lost 0.06 per cent to close at 1,279.09 points.

The market's breadth was neutral as 172 stocks declined while 172 increased.

Some 206 million shares traded on the southern market, worth VNĐ6.5 trillion.

Blue-chips fell deeply, including BVH, GAS, FPT, MSN, SAB, PNJ, VRE, MWG, BCM

The VN30-Index, tracking the 30 biggest stocks in market value, rose 0.12 per cent to 1,411.99 points. Six-teen of the VN30 basket declined, while 11 stocks increased.

On the Hà Nội Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index rose 0.24 per cent to close at 297.57 points.

More than 32 million shares were traded on the northern bourse, worth VNĐ757 billion.
