'Vin' stocks spur market

Shares extended gains on Tuesday morning as investors sought for stocks in the 'Vin' family, bolstering overall stock market.

 

On the Hồ Chí Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), the VN-Index jumped 4.8 points, or 0.35 per cent, to 1,366.52 points. The market's breadth was negative with 157 stocks increasing while 204 stocks declined.

The market liquidity was also high as domestic investors poured over VND14.8 trillion into the southern market, equivalent to a trading volume of nearly 436.4 million shares.

The recovery was boosted by gains in large-cap stocks. The VN30-Index edged 0.28 per cent lower to 1,491.30 points. Of the VN30 basket, 11 stocks rose while 15 three slid and four stayed unchanged.

The shares of the 'Vin' family performed well as IT-real-estate-manufacturing-retail conglomerate Vingroup (VIC) and real estate giant Vinhomes (VHM) increased.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index gained 0.26 per cent to 319.84 points.
