Shares climb on the surge of large-caps

Vietnamese stocks rose on Thursday morning as a series of large-cap stocks soared during final minutes of trading.

 

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), the VN-Index gained 1.18 per cent to close at 1,356.62 points. The market breadth was positive as 108 stocks declined, while 290 stocks gained.

The liquidity was high with over 620 million shares traded on the southern market, worth nearly VNĐ20.3 trillion.

The VN30-Index inched gained 1.08 per cent in the morning session to 1,494.83 points. Of the VN30 basket, 7 stocks decreased while 20 stocks rose.

Asia Commercial Bank (ACB), bank for Investment and Development (BID), Vietinbank (CTG), Military Bank (MBB), Lien Viet Post Bank (LPB), HDBank (HDB), Vincom Retail (VRE), Vingroup (VIC), Vietjet (VJC), Masan Group (MSN), Mobile World Group (MWG), Phát Đạt Real Estate (PDR), Bảo Việt Holdings (BVH), the Refrigeration Electrical Engineering Corporation (REE) and Thành Thành Công Biên Hòa JSC (SBT) were among the blue-chips raising sharply.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange (HNX), the HNX-Index rose 0.97 per cent to 328.42 points.
