Kanematsu Corporation officially becomes strategic shareholder of ATAD

ATAD Steel Structure Corporation, a leading steel structure company in Vietnam, has announced that from April 2021, Japan’s Kanematsu Corporation has completed transaction procedures and officially became the company’s strategic shareholder.

Established in 1889 and headquartered in Tokyo with five branches in Japan and 36 offices worldwide, Kanematsu Corporation operates in a variety of sectors including steel, materials and plant, electronic and devices, motor vehicles and aerospace, foods, and meat and grain.

Pursuing a sustainable development strategy, in recent years, Kanematsu considers construction and infrastructure one of the most important business areas in the steel sector. The company targets boosting investment footprints in foreign markets as part of its global expansion strategy.

The move not only marks a watershed in ATAD's history, but also helps foster partnership ties between large corporations of Vietnam and Japan.

The firms, in which Kanematsu is a shareholder, are spreading across diverse continents such as the US, China, Thailand, Indonesia, Ireland, and Poland. ATAD is the only steel structure company in Vietnam engaged with Kanematsu as a strategic shareholder.

The partnership with Kanematsu Corporation marks an important milestone in the journey of establishment and development of ATAD. With long-term cooperation and strategic support from Kanematsu, a reputed corporation, with outstanding management and experience of more than 130 years in Japan and many countries around the world, ATAD would have great opportunities to improve management capabilities, develop high-quality steel structure products on par with international standards, enhance competitiveness, and better satisfy customers' requirements.

Founded in 2004, ATAD has left footprints in more than 3,500 projects in over 40 countries and territories with a network of representative offices in Myanmar, Indonesia, Thailand, the Philippines, Cambodia, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.

The company’s eminent steel structure projects are visible in major projects domestically and regionally, such as the Vinfast automobile production complex, Hoa Phat-Dung Quat steel production complex, Cam Ranh International Airport, Danang International Airport, Ho Chi Minh City Urban Railway Project, Vinh Tan 4 Thermal Power Plant Extension, Long Son Petrochemical Complex, Wattay International Airport (Vientiane, Laos), Dangote Industries Thermal Power Plant (Tanzania), and Matarbari Thermal Power Plant (Bangladesh), among others.
