Online property searches plunge after Covid-19 resurgence

Localities have seen online search for properties plunged in the two weeks after the latest Covid-19 wave hit Vietnam.

According to property portal Batdongsan, the search on its website for properties on sale dropped 39 percent, 21 percent and 25 percent in the northern provinces Vinh Phuc and Bac Ninh and in the central city of Da Nang, respectively.

Corresponding searches in Hanoi dropped 22 percent and HCMC 25 percent.

The plunge has happened because investors are less interested in making real estate investments during the fourth Covid-19 outbreak, market observers say.

In the ongoing fourth outbreak, Vietnam has recorded 1,678 cases in 29 cities and provinces since April 27.
