Ecology, technology contribute to smart cities

An eco-friendly environment and high-tech applications are considered crucial elements for a quality living space.

The United Nations International Telecommunication Union defines "a sustainable smart city" as one adopting technological innovation to improve the quality of life, efficiency of services, while meeting the social, ecological demands of present and future residents.

In top smart cities of the world, besides technology, the "green" element is preserved and developed across buildings. The "green" element means solutions to optimize renewable energy consumption, minimize the impact on the environment and maintain a sustainable living space for future generations.

The McKinsey report in 2018 indicated medium-sized cities and satellite towns around Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) own advantages in developing toward a smart city model. It explained new land could easily adopt technology right from planning and design stages, thereby increasing the effectiveness of innovative solutions in future urban operations.

The lack of green space in big cities like HCMC is pushing the demand for a living space close to nature. The interest of homebuyers is also one of the important driving forces behind the development of smart cities in Vietnam.

Catching up with the modern trend featuring closeness to nature, real estate developer Novaland has developed Aqua City, an eco-friendly project.

Completed in 2023, this urban area opens up a modern and comfortable ecological living space in a satellite town east of HCMC. Residents can easily access natural and artificial water bodies like rivers, lakes, canals, swimming pools... just by a few minutes' walk.

Each internal road is designed specifically for walking and cycling with electric charging stations. This urban area is equipped with security monitoring and warning systems, online payment, smart parking, environmental pollution monitoring systems, smart lighting and power management systems.

In addition, a dense 4-layer security network with a security center of more than seven hectares ensures quality, safe living spaces and completes peace of mind for each family. Young residents can grow physically and mentally in harmony with the community and environment.

To create a complete smart eco-urban for Aqua City, NovaGroup has tied up with Viettel and many other partners to adopt smart operation and management solutions with 4.0 technology, thereby bringing convenience to residents in travel, services use and improving quality of life.

Since its launch in 2019, Aqua City has become the leading project in terms of both supply and sales of townhouses and villas in HCMC and surrounding areas in the past two years.

"The ecological and smart factor is not only a marketing advantage, but a statement to launch Aqua City. This must be a model ecological and smart city, ensuring sustainable living values, providing quality living space for current and future residents," a Novaland representative shared.
