Ha Tinh Province doubles budget for industry promotion

The People's Committee of Ha Tinh Province has approved the local industry promotion program for the 2021-2025 period, which more than doubles the support funding for the previous period and creates favorable conditions for effective industry promotion in the north-central province.

Of the expected VND62.765 billion budget, the provincial budget will contribute VND27.11 billion, and the rest will be reciprocal business capital and capital mobilized from participating economic sectors. The support will aid vocational training, management capacity improvement, establishing rural industrial start-ups, building technical demonstration models and developing outstanding rural industrial products.

Specifically, by 2025 the locality will provide new training and improve skills for 1,000 workers, support the establishment of about 20-30 rural industrial enterprises, support construction of 10 technical demonstration models as well as apply advanced production machinery for 30 establishments. It will also promote rural industry development, striving for 11.9 percent growth of industrial production value and greater proportion of the deep processing industry and the added value of agro-forestry-fishery products.

Over the past five years, the locality deployed 109 projects with total support funding of over VND23.292 billion, of which the local budget contributed over VND12.252 billion. The projects not only helped manufacturers enhance production efficiency, but also raised awareness among business owners to the importance of technology, environmental protection and human resource training for long-term development.

Boosting confidence in investment

The decision to more than double the funding for the coming five years affirms the efficiency of the industry promotion work over the previous period and sets great expectations for the new phase.

The People's Committee continues reviewing mechanisms and policies issued in order to supplement and complete adjustments to new requirements, supports upgrading of rural infrastructure, reducing administrative procedures, and mobilizing financial resources for its activities.

The province is also strengthening knowledge, developing product consumption markets for rural industrial establishments, and supporting technology improvements, as well as prioritizing supporting enterprises in applying advanced technologies, treating waste and environmental pollution, and applying cleaner industrial production. At the same time, the province coordinates with related units on vocational training and branding for rural industrial producers in the area.

In addition to the preferential policies prescribed by the government, industrial production establishments investing in rural areas of Ha Tinh also enjoy a number of specific preferential regimes such as prioritizing the adaptation of premises to production targets, attracting investors to industrial cluster infrastructure, and supporting funding for vocational training.
