OCB co-operates with AppotaPay e-wallet

AppotaPay, a member company of Appota Group and OCB on Thursday in HCM City signed an agreement to allow Appota e-wallet’s users to connect with the bank’s domestic card easily.

Under the agreement, the two sides would co-operate in services such as e-wallet, payment gateway, collection and payment services. OCB became the first bank in Viet Nam to co-operate with AppotaPay e-wallet.

The co-operation between OCB and AppotaPay has been under AppotaPay’s long-term development orientation. It would also offer a comprehensive mobile payment solution based on a technology platform that helps to limit cash transactions.

“Based on the advantages of the two sides’ customer base and the experienced technical team, we ensure that the services are always updated with the most advanced IT applications, bring a valuable experience for customers,” said Nguyen Van Huong, Head of Retail Division at OCB.

Luong Van Minh, AppotaPay's marketing director, said: “This partnership will contribute to expanding the customer base of both parties. AppotaPay will have a large number of customers from OCB and vice versa. OCB will have additional payment facilities with advanced technology, to better serve customers and reduce risks when having transactions in cash.”

Minh also said that the online payment market in Viet Nam will thrive, since COVID-19 has promoted the development of digital payment and brought positive signals in the e-wallet market. Users, especially young people, will gradually change their habits and behaviours, especially for online shopping and payment.

Appota e-wallet of the AppotaPay Joint Stock Company is the 39th unit that is not a bank licensed by the State Bank of Viet Nam to provide intermediary payment services. Appota wallet aims to serve young customers with modern payment behaviour through utilities such as electricity, water, internet, phone recharge, game card purchase and other entertainment services.
