Visa and Wing launch new online payment card with extensive benefits

Visa, the world’s leader in digital payments, and Wing (Cambodia) Limited Specialised Bank on Thursday partnered to introduce the ‘Wing Virtual Visa Card’, an online payment card for all users of Wing’s mobile payment application.

“With customer experience being the ultimate priority for our bank, Wing is thrilled to be partnering with Visa to provide a brand new online card that comes with a huge range of benefits for our customers,” said Wing CEO Manu Rajan. “Through our service, Wing app users can easily create a Wing Virtual Visa Card and make online payments, in addition to having access to several promotional incentives and rewards.”

The new digital payment card offers a range of benefits to existing Wing app users including the ability to make purchases online wherever Visa is accepted, the convenient monitoring of expenses, and the elimination of credit checks and variable credit limits.

“At Visa, we are proud to partner with innovative companies like Wing to introduce new digital payment technologies that help to move the country closer towards its vision of becoming a cashless nation,” said Visa country manager for Cambodia Chum Monika. “The Covid-19 pandemic has driven a shift to online purchases and digital payments meaning technology like the Wing app will become increasingly important for consumers throughout the nation. By introducing the Wing Virtual Visa Card, existing users of online financial applications now have greater access to a safer, faster and more convenient payment solution,” added Chum.

The partnership brings Visa’s expertise in digital payment and e-commerce solutions to Wing, the leading mobile payment solution provider in Cambodia. Following its launch in 2009, Wing has built an extensive network of agents and introduced a range of innovative products and services to its user base, including bill payments, phone top-ups, local and international money transfers, online shopping and QR payments. Wing has strived to ensure that all Cambodians have access to a bank account by bridging the financial services gap in the Kingdom.

“With the pandemic having already impacted consumers across the world, it’s necessary to increase the freedom of our users to purchase items and complete their essential transactions, digitally and safely,” Manu added.

Wing app users using the Wing Virtual Visa Card will have the ability to participate in exciting promotions including monthly lucky draws, instant cashback from Grab, and discount offers for online purchases. The details about these promotions will be announced in Wing’s official Facebook soon.
