Shares rise on large-caps

Shares rose on Wednesday morning thanks to the gains of large-cap stocks.

 

On the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange (HoSE), the market benchmark VN-Index decreased 0.03 per cent to end the morning session at 1,177.98 points.

More than 314.5 million shares were traded on the southern exchange, worth VNĐ7.8 trillion (US$374.6 million).

The market breadth was neutral with 200 stocks climbing, while 213 declined.

The VN30-Index rose 0.15 per cent to 1,184.22 points.

Thirteen of 30 biggest stocks increased in the morning trading session, while ten stocks decreased.

The stocks witnessing rallies this morning were Vietcombank (VCB), VPBank (VPB), Techcombank (TCB), Military Bank (MBB) and HDBank (HDB).

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index also gained 0.37 per cent to 239.68 points.
