Shares gain on buying force

Shares climbed on Monday morning with strong buying force right from the beginning of trading, large-caps were pushed up.

 

The benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange gained 0.97 per cent to end the morning session at 1,094.90 points.

More than 446 million shares were traded on the southern bourse, worth VND9 trillion (US$407 million).

The large-cap tracker VN30-Index was up 0.59 per cent to 1,058.34 points.

Nine-teen of the 30 large-cap stocks in the VN30 basket increased while seven declined.

A number of blue-chips attracted cash flow such as insurer Bảo Việt Holdings (BVH), steel maker Hoà Phát Group (HPG), Masan Group (MSN), Vingroup (VIC), Vinamilk (VNM), Vietnam National Petroleum Group (PLX), Vincom Retail (VRE), Phú Nhuận Jewelry (PNJ), Vinhomes (VHM) and Mobile World Group (MWG).

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index climbed 1.72 per cent to 195.77 points.

More than 131.7 million shares were traded on the northern market, worth VNĐ4.1 trillion.
