Shares gain on strong cash flow

Shares advanced on Wednesday morning as strong cash flow was injected into large-cap stocks.

 

The benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange rose 0.42 per cent to 955.86 points.

More than 194 million shares were traded on the southern exchange, worth VNĐ4 trillion (US$172.6 million).

By market value, the large-cap tracker VN30-Index rose 0.29 per cent to 919.19 points.

Towards the end of the morning session, many blue-chips gained ground such as insurer Bao Viet Holdings (BVH), PetroVietnam Gas JSC (GAS), Hoa Sen Group (HSG), Vietcombank (VCB), Sabeco (SAB), Vietnam National Petroleum Group (PLX), Mobile World Group (MWG) and Vinhomes (VHM).

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index lost 0.06 per cent to 141.29 points.

Some 54.5 million shares were traded on the northern exchange, worth VND725 billion (US$196 million).
