Shares climb on strong cash flow

Shares rose on Wednesday morning thanks to a strong cash flow pouring in pillar stocks.

 

The benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange gained 0.35 per cent to 918.86 points.

It had risen 0.11 per cent to 915.67 points.

More than 290 million shares were traded on the southern bourse, worth VND4.7 trillion (US$202.5 million).

A strong cash flow was poured into the blue-chip stocks, including PetroVietnam Gas JSC (GAS), rising by 3 per cent to VND74,700 per share, Mobile World Group (MWG), increasing by 1.9 per cent to VND107,200 per share, Vincom Retail (VRE), climbing by 1.1 per cent to VND27,800 per share.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index was down 0.39 per cent to close Wednesday morning at 137.24 points.

More than 34.2 million shares were traded on the northern exchange, worth VND481 billion.
