Shares make gains on large-cap stocks

Vietnamese shares made gains on Monday morning thanks to the growth of large-cap stocks.

 

The benchmark VN-Index rose 0.43 per cent to 905.41 points.

Nearly 225.5 million shares were traded on the southern exchange, worth VNĐ3.6 trillion (US$155 million).

Large-cap stocks were the major boost of the local market as the blue-chip tracker VN30-Index increased by 0.27 per cent to 842.81 points.

Gainers in the large-cap group included HDBank (HDB), brewer Sabeco (SAB), Vingroup (VIC), Vietocmbank (VCB).

On a sector basic, real estate, securities, retail, agriculture, energy, food and beverage, rubber production, seafood processing, construction materials and logistics were among the gainers.

On the other side, losers were wholesale, information and technology, insurance, healthcare and banking.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index lost 0.30 per cent to 125.77 points.

More than 25.6 million shares were traded on the two exchanges, worth VNĐ330 trillion.
