Ford Vietnam achieves 13 per cent growth in July

Ford Vietnam said July sales rose by 13 per cent month-on-month to 2,225 units.

Despite the impacts of COVID-19, the strong performance of most of its leading models like Ranger, Everest, Explorer, and Transit has helped push its year-to-date sales to 10,645, the company said.

The mid-sized SUV Everest delivered outstanding July growth of 41 per cent (620 vehicles) to achieve the leading position in its segment.

Ranger sales for the year rose by 13 per cent to 1,028 units, keeping it unbeaten in the pick-up segment so far. It has almost a 60 per cent market share with 5,492 vehicles sold this year.

The Explorer premium SUV, imported from the US, saw sales this year rise by 14 per cent year-over-year to 628 units, keeping it at the top of its segment.

July sales rose 8 per cent to 154 units. Demand for the Explorer is supported by the strong appeal for its fuel-efficient 2.3L EcoBoost engine.

The EcoSport compact SUV sold 286 units in July, taking its year-to-date sales to 1,297.

The Tourneo sold 170 units this year. The seven-seat MPV saw July sales double to 48.

The Transit maintained its leadership in the commercial van and bus segment with sales for the year reaching 590 vehicles. The commercial segment is severely impacted by Covid-19’s effect on the economy and tourism.
