In a working session with leaders of Quang Binh People’s Committee, the representative of Dohwa Engineering provided a report on the construction progress of its two projects and the reason for the delay.
According to the company, as of now, the company completed the feasibility report, basic design (which was approved by the Ministry of Industry and Trade), built the detailed project plan, and signed the power purchase agreement with Electricity of Vietnam (EVN), among others for the renewable energy power complex in Le Thuy district.
According to the initial plan, the $55-million project includes sub-projects generating 550MW of solar power, 100MW of biomass power, and building resort areas and water parks. In the first phase, the Korean group would construct a solar power plant with a capacity of 49.5MW. The project was expected to be put into operation at the end of 2018.
Regarding the $11-million energy tablet manufacturing factory project in the province’s Hon La Industrial Zone, the company completed the land clearance, built the temporary fence, and has completed the main stages. The investor expected to take the factory into operation in 2018.
However, in reality, the construction work was behind schedule because of the difficulties in building electricity connection system, the plunge in the global demand for energy tablets. In addition, the investor took a lot of time to complete procedures, studying the investment process, as well as the impact of storms.
At the working session, Nguyen Xuan Quang, Deputy Chairman of Quang Binh People’s Committee asked Dohwa to study carefully the procedures to avoid mistakes while simultaneously building specific plans for constructing and installing equipment for the two projects to start commercial operation in December this year.
