Shares mixed as large-caps vary

Vietnamese markets were mixed on Wednesday morning, witnessing struggles with differentiation in pillar codes.

 

The benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange ended Wednesday morning at 768.26 points, up 0.14 per cent from the previous day.

The index was down 0.46 per cent to end Tuesday at 767.21 points,

Nearly 139.4 million shares were traded on the southern bourse, worth VND2.2 trillion (US$93.6 million).

The large-cap tracker VN30-Index edged down 0.27 per cent to 713.78 points.

In the VN30 basket, large-cap stocks varied. Sabeco (SAB) increased by 1.2 per cent, PetroVietnam Gas JSC (GAS) up by 1.1 per cent, Vietcombank (VCB) rose by 1.3 per cent.

Dairy firm Vinamilk (VNM) decreased by 1.4 per cent, VPBank (VPB) lost by 1 per cent and Vietnam Commercial Joint Stock Export Import Bank (EIB) dropped by 1.7 per cent.

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index slid 0.03 per cent to close at 106.23 points.

The northern market index slid 0.04 per cent to close at 106.26 points.

More than 29 million shares were traded on the northern bourse, worth VND182.3 billion.
