ABBank - a trustworthy companion to Vietnamese families
ABBank - a trustworthy companion to Vietnamese families
The name An Binh brings to mind happiness and family values, both core values ABBank has been nurturing in the Vietnamese society throughout its 26-plus years of development.Appearing in several episodes of the hit family drama Ve Nha Di Con, ABBank quickly rose to fame and is now referred to as “the bank from the telly”.
The bank’s decision to feature as the backdrop to the nation’s favourite soap opera was highlighted by media and marketing specialists as an innovative stunt to plant its name and brand in customer’s minds, particularly targeting families.
This focus is also apparent in the bank’s annual event, ABBank Family Day. Debuting in 2018, this event targets Vietnamese children, families, and young people to resurrect traditional family values. On Family Day, many traditional games are organised for the kids such as tug of war or blind man’s buff besides modern programmes like a breakdance performance or accustoming participants with 4.0 technologies.
The event attracted nearly 13,000 guests at its Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City venues and collected nearly VND600 million ($26,100) in donations for underprivileged children.
Continuing the success of the previous event, ABBank Family Day 2019 held at Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square in Hanoi in this September welcomed nearly 10,000 visitors.
The participants took part in diverse activities, such as games and collecting and classifying waste to care for the environment. They also had the chance to get up close and personal with 4.0 financial technologies and attend a memorable night of song and music with staged pieces closely attached to family bonds, friendship, love, and youth.
Help where it is needed the most
Besides community-oriented activities, ABBank has also diverse philanthropic programmes. For instance, for the past decade Tet An Binh – one of the bank’s eminent community-oriented programmes – have made efforts to bring a happy Lunar New Year to underprivileged people throughout the country with funding value reaching an astounding VND10 billion ($434,800).
The presents ranged from simple daily essentials like shirts, blankets, or banh chung (square sticky rice cake, a staple Vietnamese cake for the Lunar New Year) to gifts of higher values such as scholarships for students, TV sets for soldiers in remote areas, or building boarding houses for students in rural and remote areas.
Every year, a large part of the bank’s budget is earmarked for social welfare initiatives and for improving knowledge through scholarships and the construction of learning facilities for the young generations. Additionally, ABBank organises regular training courses to teachers and library managers to ensure the effective operation of libraries. The bank is also one of the loyal brands that have been accompanying the Vietnamese Talent Awards for many years to commend Vietnamese scientists’ achievements.
Family bank for sustainability
In parallel with community and social values, it is the benefits and commitments to the customers that set ABBank apart from other players in the field of banking. Oriented as the “bank of every local family”, the bank has made constant efforts to roll-out new innovative products and services to benefit families.
ABBank is one of the first banks pioneering the online payment of utilities and taxes and offers diverse and practical family-oriented savings products. “Family” has been the core theme of ABBank’s diverse promotion programmes such as ABBank Visa Couple cards. The bank also took this theme to reinvent its brand image and the customer experience journey with youthful and friendly images, while at the same time improving its website.
The year 2019 is special to ABBank as the bank has set the ambitious target of dominating Vietnam’s digital banking market through the introduction of Vietnam’s very first payment service equipped with facial recognition – Wee@ABBank.
The new application makes user experience more personal, friendly, and cosier and has received resoundingly positive feedback from users at ABBank Family Day 2019.
Late October 2019 marked ABBank’s digital financial solutions taking off through the launch of Wee@ABBank with multiple updates ensuring smoother experience and enhanced privacy, combining Face and Smart OTP, 3D checking, and more. Customers can download and try Wee@ABBank on Appstore or Google Play, or directly download the app from ABBank’s website.
ABBank has recently decided to move its headquarters from Ho Chi Minh City to Hanoi to further its business expansion plans in the years ahead. The move aims to cement the bank’s reputation as an amicable retail bank after 26 years of development under the principle that happiness is not only serving customers but also being a companion to bring trust and peace of mind to every Vietnamese family.
