Savills launches Workthere platform for office space providers, leasers in Vietnam

Real estate advisor Savills Vietnam on October 23 announced the launch of workthere.com, a website listing platform and brokerage service that helps companies find flexible, coworking and serviced office spaces in Vietnam, where the supply of these spaces has surged 64% since last year.

In addition, a team from Savills Vietnam will offer advisory services on working space requirements to providers and renters through the platform.

Cal Lee, founder and global head of Workthere, said that Workthere was first launched in the United Kingdom in February 2017 and later expanded to seven other countries, with local teams to service clients in Singapore, Germany, France, Spain, Ireland, the United States and the Netherlands.

In Vietnam, Workthere has listed roughly 50 coworking providers in the major cities of Danang, HCMC and Hanoi on its platform and seeks to expand the network in the coming period, he added.

According to a report by Savills, the supply of coworking spaces in the country has soared as high as 64% since last year. With the rapid expansion of local and foreign coworking space operators, this real estate segment is forecast to see sharp growth in the years to come.

Yann Deschamps, head of Workthere Asia-Pacific, said that the demand for flexible office spaces in Vietnam will come from freelancers, startups and small businesses at home and abroad. The growing demand drives the need for a tech-based platform and advisory service to help renters find effective working space solutions. This is why Workthere was launched in Vietnam, he explained.
