Shares go up on buying demand
Shares rose up on Thursday morning thanks to the positive movements of the large-cap stocks.
The benchmark VN-Index on the Ho Chi Minh Stock Exchange rose 0.09 per cent to close at 988.22 points after losing 0.08 per cent to close Wednesday at 987.0 points..
Nearly 70.3 million shares were traded on the southern bourse, worth VND1.7 trillion (US$73.5 million).
Many large-caps gained strongly thanks to the rising buying demand, including brewery Sabeco (SAB), increasing by 3.6 per cent to VND272,500 per share, the construction conglomerate Cotec Construction Joint Stock Company (CTD), up by 2 per cent to VND98,000 per share, Saigon Securities Incorporation (SSI), climbing by 2 per cent to VND22,100 per share.
These stocks were among the large-caps that pushed the large-cap VN30-Index up 0.21 per cent to end at 914.31 points.
On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX-Index rose 0.03 per cent to end at 103.85 points.
The northern market went down 0.19 per cent to end at 103.81 points on Wednesday.
Nearly 14 million shares were traded on the exchange, worth VND157 billion.
