Local fuel prices down

The ministries of Industry and Trade and Finance decided on August 1 to lower fuel prices by VND300-400 per liter or kilogram, the local media reported.

The global prices of RON92, RON95 gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene and heavy fuel oil fell to US$70.02, US$72.89, US$78.11, US$78.38 per barrel and US$429.07 per ton, respectively, in 15 days prior to August 1.

As such, the ministries allowed traders to tap the fuel price stabilization fund, at VND100 for each liter of E5 biofuel sold, and allowed them to continue extracting VND500 from the stabilization fund for each liter and kilogram of gasoline and oil sold.

The retail prices of E5 biofuel, RON95-III gasoline and heavy fuel oil dropped by VND377, VND316 per liter and VND53 per kilogram, respectively. Meanwhile, kerosene and diesel oil were hiked by VND7 and VND26 per liter, respectively.

Therefore, E5 biofuel, RON95-III gasoline, diesel oil, kerosene and heavy fuel oil now sell for less than VND19,902, VND20,919, VND17,023, VND15,966 and VND15,927 per liter or kilogram, respectively.
