Toyota Vietnam recalls cars to replace faulty airbag software

Toyota Motor Vietnam on July 25 announced a recall of Toyota Rush cars assembled from July 16, 2018 to January 10, 2019 to inspect and replace airbag computer software.

The recall notices have been sent to owners of 1,592 autos. According to Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), due to errors in the programming of the airbag computer software, there is a possibility that the airbag could accidentally deploy if the car is jolted when passing over rough roads.

Toyota Motor Vietnam will inspect and replace the airbag computers at no cost. Total time of the checking and replacing is about 25 minutes and will be carried out by all Toyota dealers nationwide.

Toyota Vietnam has not received any reports related to customers complaining about airbags unintentionally deploying on the Toyota Rush.

In order to conduct the program successfully, along with publicizing information to the media, Toyota dealers will alert owners of vehicles with letters.

Also, for further information, customers may learn more about the recall at www.toyota.com.vn or www.toyotavn.com.vn, or contact Toyota dealers nationwide, as well as call 18001524 or 0916001524.
