New businesses post highest registered capital

As many as 79,300 businesses were established in the past seven months with combined registered capital of VND999.4 trillion, up 4.6% and 20.6% year-on-year, respectively, VietnamPlus reports, citing data from the General Statistics Office.

The average registered capital of new businesses was VND12.6 billion, setting a new record.

With VND1.470 quadrillion in additional capital from existing businesses included, fresh and additional capital totaled VND2.470 quadrillion, or some US$105 billion.

Besides this, some 24,300 businesses reportedly resumed operations year-to-date, rising by 29.9% against the same period last year. However, 23,100 firms registered to suspend operations in the period, and 24,800 units are currently undergoing dissolution.

Of the 9,300 businesses dissolved (up 20% year-on-year), small businesses with capital below VND10 billion accounted for up to 90.4%.
