Kien Giang to hold investment promotion conference next week

About 500 delegates, including high-ranking officials of central State agencies and business executives at home and abroad, will attend the Investment Promotion Conference 2019 on July 29 in Kien Giang Province.

Under the theme "Kien Giang - Potential and opportunities for sustainable investment", the conference will serve as a platform for investors and international organizations to meet and discuss investment plans with provincial authorities and relevant agencies, said provincial chairman Pham Vu Hong at a press briefing on July 23.

Participants will be briefed on the potential, advantages, and opportunities for investment in the province, a portfolio of 118 prioritized investment projects, in addition to investment policies and zoning plans, he said.

In particular, the province will prioritize investment in the fields of clean, hi-tech, organic agriculture; ocean farming; and technologies to process value-added farm produce, he said.

It will also call for investment to help develop tourism, industry, trade, border economic zone and urban areas, as well as treat waste, he added.

At the event, Kien Giang will sign agreements with nearly 20 organizations, associations and companies with investments in trade, tourism, agro-aqua-forestry sectors, and present investment certificates to around 20 investors with total registered investment of VND30 trillion.
