TH’s organic triumph

Through great efforts, a famous Vietnamese dairy giant is continuing to join the leaders in the domestic milk industry with its fresh organic products.

In August 2017, locally-invested TH Group, well-known for its TH true MILK brand, officially launched its 500ml TH true MILK organic fresh milk product into the Vietnamese market.

However, it was little known at the time that the event marked an important milestone in the development process of the Vietnamese milk industry. The product was processed from milk originating from organic dairy cows on Vietnamese soil, or more precisely, at the group’s dairy farm located in Nghia Dan district of the central province of Nghe An.

In addition, until now not much was known about the painstaking preparations that had earlier been made in order for such a product to become successful.

In 2015 the group’s founder Thai Huong inked a deal with international certification body Control Union on implementing a process for producing TH true MILK fresh organic milk under the USDA-NOP standards of the United States, and Europe’s EC 834/2007 and EC 889/2008 standards.

Under these standards, TH Group gradually and professionally transformed its dairy cow farm and factory. Part of the fields used for raising cows and planting sunflower and grass, which are utilised for making cow feed, was earmarked for organic farming without any use of pesticides and chemical fertilisers.

The following year, the TH farm selected a number of cows and moved them to a separate zone used for dairy farming under organic standards. This challenging process for the animals, which were earlier imported from New Zealand, required time for them to get used to the new habitat.

Eventually, they adapted themselves to the zone where they could enjoy organic Mombasa grass. If they got sick, they were treated by traditional medicines and herbs. On September 27, 2016 the TH farm welcomed the very first calf given birth to by an organic cow. She was named True Organic.

From the first 200 mother cows, the farm has so far developed a large organic herd of nearly 1,000 cattle.

In mid-2017, TH Group obtained the EC 834/2007 and EC 889/2008 certificates for its farm and factory while continuing its journey to obtain the US standards certificate.

Just a few months later, the group was proud to carry out the debut of its TH true MILK organic fresh milk product.

According to Thai Huong, organic dairy farming and milk production under the international standards from Vietnam’s available resources, or the milk materials produced by the group itself, has been a constant policy of TH Group over the past years.

All stages for raising organic cows and producing organic milk are conducted through strict processes using state-of-the-art technology and equipment. Thanks to these processes and hard work, today the popular TH true MILK organic fresh milk packs are seen across the country.

“In order for a brand name to last forever, we must be patient in developing and improving it in all circumstances. We have placed our heart, passion, and devotion to it,” Thai Huong said. “And TH true MILK organic fresh milk has demonstrated our great efforts.”

Following the success of the 500ml TH true MILK organic fresh milk product, the company has continued marketing its one-litre version in order to meet the growing demand of local consumers.

Previously, the product line of fresh sterilised TH true MILK with the TOPKID formula, produced completely from fresh organic milk material, also got a warm welcome from customers as soon as it was marketed. The company does not rest there. In addition to fresh organic products, TH Group has also been developing and marketing agricultural organic products such as fruit, vegetables, and herbs. Since 2015, Control Union has granted the USDA-NOP and EC 834/2007 certificates to the group’s 37 types of safe vegetables and five types of traditional herbs.

TH Group’s organic production projects have been invested in many localities nationwide, such as Nghe An, and the northern provinces of Ha Giang, Son La, and Dien Bien.
