MTA Vietnam returns to propel precision engineering and manufacturing
From July 2-5, the 17th edition of the international precision engineering, machine tools and metalworking exhibition, MTA Vietnam returns to boost the development of Vietnam's precision engineering and manufacturing sectors at Saigon Exhibition & Convention Center (SECC).
Speaking at a press conference on June 18, Pham Xuan Da, head of the Department on Southern Services under the Ministry of Science and Technology, said that Vietnam's precision engineering and manufacturing sectors have made great strides over the past few years. Most recently, Vietnamese automaker VinFast, a subsidiary of Vingroup, has inaugurated its manufacturing plant in the northern city of Haiphong. The development of VinFast is a great achievement of Vietnam's automobile industry, helping the country reach global levels and realising the dream of Made in Vietnam automobiles.
Meanwhile, THACO is the leading automobile manufacturer in Vietnam that produces, assembles, and distributes a full line of commercial vehicles, including trucks, special purpose vehicles, and buses. The company has been leading the market with a market share of 40 per cent in the past years.
Despite these successes, Pham noted that Vietnamese companies still face limitations dampening their development like a lack of competitiveness in the market and shortage of materials and accessories.
Therefore, MTA Vietnam 2019 themed “Advancing Vietnam’s Manufacturing Industries” is expected to address the challenges for businesses in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.
Covering an area of 13,900 square metres, the expo attracts more than 508 exhibitors from 22 countries and regions and presenting 14 international group pavilions from developed industrial nations such as the UK, Germany, Korea, Japan, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, and the USA.
Visitors and distinguished delegates will be able to observe a strong line-up of products, technologies, and innovative solutions applied for the engineering and metalworking industry.
Within the framework of the expo, there will be a long list of educational and interesting conferences and forums from familiar co-organisers of the show like Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and Multi Engineering Solutions Laboratory (MESLAB); together with many well-known industry speakers and experts.
This year’s event also hosts MTA Technical platform where exhibitors will stage live demonstrations of their products, machines, and machine tools to visitors and delegates.
In 2018, MTA Vietnam attracted 11,131 trade visitors from 32 countries and territories, an increase of 7.05 per cent from the previous edition.
