Local dairy firm attends global dairy congress

National dairy processing firm Vinamilk was invited to share its stories on successfully developing nutritious organic products at the 13th Global Dairy Congress, taking place from June 26 to 27 in the capital city of Lisbon in Portugal.

The dairy firm was the only representative from Asia to deliver a speech on the organic trend at the event.

Two years ago, Vinamilk inaugurated the first organic dairy farm in Vietnam, in line with European standards, and then launched 100% organic fresh milk products. The product has taken the lead on the local high-end organic dairy market.

Apart from its two organic dairy farms in the country, the local dairy processor in May this year established a joint venture with its Japanese and Lao partners, developing dairy farm complex Vinamilk-Lao Jagro in Laos. The complex is expected to raise 100,000 cows, covering 20,000 hectares of land, with a total investment of up to US$500 million.

The first phase of the dairy farm project is scheduled for completion in 2020, meeting the standards of Europe, the United States and Japan for organic dairy products.

The 2019 dairy congress was attended by the world’s top 50 dairy companies from Europe, the United States and Japan. The annual event features success stories shared by leaders in the field on creating breakthroughs in developing the global dairy industry, in addition to introducing new nutrition trends in the world.
