Israeli firms learn about business opportunities in Viet Nam
Thirty Israeli import firms received updated information about business opportunities in Viet Nam at a trade promotion workshop in Tel Aviv on Thursday.
The firms operate in a wide range of sectors including food, consumer goods, farm produce, aquatic products, textiles, electronics and construction materials.
During the event, Roy Roznek from the Federation of Israeli Chambers of Commerce underlined the strong development of bilateral economic and trade ties.
He said many Israeli importers were seeking suppliers of food, agricultural and seafood products, consumer goods and textiles in Viet Nam.
The event allowed the firms to learn more about the Vietnamese market and be introduced to Vietnamese businesses, he said.
Le Thai Hoa, Vietnamese Trade Counselor in Israel, briefed participants on Viet Nam’s strengths, key production sectors, trade exchange activities and international trade fairs.
He also called on Israeli enterprises to join trade exhibitions and fairs to seek Vietnamese partners and suppliers.
Israel is among Viet Nam’s top economic partners in the Middle East. Two-way trade surpassed US$1.2 billion last year as many of Viet Nam’s staples gained a foothold in the Israeli market.
Bilateral trade hit $131.29 million over the past two months of 2019, with Viet Nam enjoying a trade surplus of $77.47 million.
Viet Nam’s main exports to Israel include mobile phones and components, aquatic products, cashew nuts, footwear, garments, textiles and coffee.
