Top Thai goods on show in Ha Noi

Nearly 130 leading firms from Thailand are advertising their products and services to local customers at the Top Thai Brands 2019, which began in the capital on Thursday.

On display at 160 booths are food and beverages, household appliances, electronics, automotive products, baby products, fashion products, and healthcare and beauty products.

In his speech at the event’s opening ceremony, Thai Ambassador to Viet Nam Tanee Sangrat spoke highly of bilateral relations in many fields between the two countries.

Tanee Sangrat described the Top Thai Brands 2019 as a good opportunity for Vietnamese customers to get access to many of Thailand’s quality goods.

Co-organised by the Department of International Trade Promotion (DITP), Ministry of Commerce of Thailand - Office of Commercial Affairs, Royal Thai Embassy in Ha Noi, in co-operation with the Viet Nam National Trade Fair & Advertising Company (Vinexad), the Top Thai Brands 2019 will run until May 26 at the Ha Noi International Exhibition Centre.

Thailand is currently Viet Nam’s largest trade partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), according to the Vietnamese Ministry of Industry and Trade. Last year, two-way trade rose to US$16.6 billion from $6 billion in 2009.

Thailand’s statistics showed that Viet Nam was the country’s second-largest trading partner in ASEAN, after Malaysia.
