Int’l coffee show attracts 150 brands

The Vietnam International Cafe Show 2019 kicked off this morning, May 2, in HCMC’s District 7, attracting 150 local and international coffee brands.

The coffee show gathered international exhibitors from Peru, South Korea, Taiwan and Singapore. The organizer aims to encourage foreign firms to learn more about the local coffee industry as well as promote Vietnamese coffee products on the global market.

The expo serves as a trade forum where participants can meet and discuss business cooperation deals with experts, embassies and various industry associations.

In addition, local coffee traders and producers will be able to network and introduce their coffee products to foreign firms.

This year, many coffee cooperatives from the Central Highlands provinces of Daknong and Daklak have joined the trade show as well.

The event also incorporates coffee-themed competitions, including Vietnam National Barista Championship, Vietnam National Latte Art Championship and Vietnam Signature Battle.

Within the framework of the show, a workshop titled “Coffee Talk” comes highly recommended for people with vested interests in the local coffee industry. Industry experts will discuss efforts to improve the quality of Vietnamese coffee and messages they wish to convey to consumers.

The Vietnam International Café Show will wrap up on May 4.
