Chinese tourists make up bulk of arrivals

Cambodia welcomed nearly four million foreign tourists in the first eight months of this year, led by the Chinese – an increase of 11.7 per cent compared to the same period last year – a Tourism Ministry report released on Monday showed.

The report said of a total of 3,949,759 visitors, the Chinese account for 32.4 per cent of all inbound tourists, marking an increase to more than 1.2 million. This is a 72.2 per cent rise from last year, it said.

The Vietnamese were the second-largest group to visit the Kingdom, with a total of 526,286.

Except for Chinese tourists, foreign arrivals from other countries fell over the period.
