Shoppers get National Day promos

Retailers, electronic stores and supermarkets are offering a myriad of promotions on National Day, September 2, to attract shoppers.

Lotte Mart supermarket chain is offering many promotions until September 4 at its 13 stores nationwide. They included discounts of up to 49 per cent on thousands of products and a shock prices programme for its loyal customers.

From now until September 14 customers buying Trung Nguyen coffee products worth VND90,000 at the supermarket will get a ticket for a lucky draw with prizes worth 5.6 taels (37.5gm) of gold each week.

A draw for a special prize of a Vespa LX 125 I-Get scooter worth VND67.9 million (US$2,914) will be held on September 22.

Saigon Co.op has tied up with hundreds of suppliers to organise the “Proud of Vietnamese Goods 2018” promotion month at more than 100 Co.opmart and Co.opXtra outlets between August 16 and September 5.

Over 10,000 essential products are being sold at discounts of up to 50 per cent.

They are also offering big discounts to customers buying the second, fourth or sixth items of the same product, gifting over 200,000 vouchers and offering members higher bonus points than normal.

Do Quoc Huy, Saigon Co-op’s marketing director, said besides its regular activities to promote consumption of Vietnamese products, the "Proud of Vietnamese goods" programme is Saigon Co.op’s largest annual promotion programme to boost the consumption of domestically produced goods, with spending on the programme increasing every year.

The programme is in its 21st year.

Many other supermarkets and electronics shops in HCM City like Big C, Nguyen Kim, Thien Hoa, and Cho Lon are offering attractive discounts on essential goods as well as TVs, cameras, mobile phones, and household appliances.

According to the city Department of Industry and Trade, the 2018 Promotion Fair will held at the Phu Tho Indoor Stadium in District 11 from August 29 to September 3, kicking off the city’s annual sales promotion month.

It will feature 500-600 booths showcasing and selling essential goods, consumer goods, food and foodstuffs, garment and textiles, handicrafts, cosmetics, electronics, and other products.

To be held on National Day, the fair would offer good shopping options for locals as well as tourists, the department said.
