Maternity products fair opens in HCMC

The Viet Nam International Premium Products Fair and the Viet Nam International Maternity – Mom and Kids Products Fair opened at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Centre on May 31.

 

The former has attracted nearly 180 exhibitors from South Korea, Viet Nam, Singapore, Taiwan,and China, who are displaying premium food and beverages, cosmetics, fashion products and accessories, household appliances, gifts, toys, IT and electronic devices, and others.

Organised by Coex Viet Nam in collaboration with the Korea International Trade Association and Vinexad, VIPREMIUM 2018 will also feature business-matching programmes to bring together exhibitors and potential buyers, a “buyer zone” where exhibitors can directly exchange information with large distributors such as Lotte Mart, 7Eleven, Circle K, SCJ TV Shopping, Yes 24 and VGS Shop.

Shin Je Hwan from South Korea’s Hap Chun Foods Co Ltd, which participated in the fair, said: “This is the first time my company is participating in the fair. We want to look for agents or distributing and importing companies in Viet Nam.”

Several seminars will be held on the sidelines, including on “Future Global Customers-What Do They Want” and “Import-Export Procedures and Customs Formalities.”

VietBaby Fair

The VietBaby Fair, with the theme “Fairyland for Mom and Baby” this year, has attracted more than 136 exhibitors from 14 countries and territories like South Korea, Japan and Viet Nam, including famous brands such as Van Xuan, Bibomart, Anh Duong, Unicharm, SNB, Abbott, Boryung Medience, Alzipmat, Parklon, Alpha, Agafura and Iconix.

The fair showcases a wide range of products and services for mothers and kids, such as foods, toys, clothes, household utensils, health products and education.

Organised by Coex Viet Nam, SEGE Fairs Co Ltd and Me&Con and Eva magazines, it also has pre-natal classes and seminars on topics like healthcare, nutrition and early childhood education, game shows for children and the family, art and circus performances, and magic shows.

An awards ceremony for the “Dream of your baby” photo contest organised at the event by children’s channel VOITV will take place on June 1.

Doan Anh Dao, sales and marketing manager of Phong Phu Corporation, said by participating in the fair, her company wants to introduce its Mollis Organic towels and baby towels made from bamboo that are very soft and smooth and have anti-bacterial capabilities.

“The products were launched late last year, and sales have been very good.”

Doan Diep Binh, head of PR and events at LOTTE Mart Vietnam, said the retailer has brought to the fair its most prominent products for mothers and kids under its Choice L private label and is providing customers an opportunity to experience its Speed L online shopping app.

“Lotte Mart also wanted to seek suppliers and distributors.”

According to exhibitors, with a population of more than 90 million, many of whom are young, and increasing affluence, Viet Nam is an attractive retail market.

The fairs will go on until June 3.
