Taiwanese shipping giant expands Cambodia operation

Taiwan’s largest shipping carrier announced it has opened an office in Cambodia and plans to expand its operations in the Kingdom, further connecting the country to global supply chains.

Evergreen Shipping Services (Cambodia) was launched as a subsidiary of Evergreen Marine Corporation, a Taiwanese shipping giant that accounts for 7 percent of the global vessel fleet capacity, according to a press release from the company.

Beginning on April 25, the company will launch a weekly service stopping at ports in China, Vietnam, Thailand, as well as the coastal town of Sihanoukville. The company plans to utilise two vessels, each capable of carrying 1,618 standard shipping containers.
