Japanese life insurance company to enter market
Tokyo-based insurance company Dai-icihi Life Holdings is set to enter the Cambodian market, possibly in the next few weeks, according to a report from the Nikkei Asian Review (NAR).
Dai-icihi’s expansion would make it the first Japanese life insurance company to enter Cambodia, and the firm is set to invest nearly $38 million while employing a staff of about 100, according to NAR.
Life insurance is a relatively new offering in Cambodia. The first company joined the market in 2012, though the sector has seen significant growth since then and now has at least six companies offering services.
