VN Index rises higher on extended gain of ROS

Viet Nam’s stock benchmark indicator VN Index ended positively Tuesday morning, boosted by shares of a few large-cap companies and brokerages.

The key stock index on the HCM Stock Exchange gained 0.17 per cent to close at 752.36 points. It increased by a similar rate on Monday.

The southern market also received support from some large-cap stocks such as PetroVietnam Gas (GAS), BIDV (BID), property developer Vingroup (VIC) and brewer Sabeco (SAB).

On the Ha Noi Stock Exchange, the HNX Index fell 0.27 per cent to end at 96.58 points. It lost 0.5 per cent in the previous session.

Nearly 39 million shares were exchanged on the northern bourse, worth VND315 billion.
