PTT eyes business expansion with Thai brand ‘Café Amazon’
PTT Public Company Limited (PTT) has signed a document to grant the master franchise rights of Café Amazon to PTT Lao as it plans to expand its Thai brand in the region.
Currently a total of 38 Café Amazons are operating in Laos under PTT Lao with a target set at 75 branches over the next few years.
Senior Executive Vice President of PTT Public Company Limited MrAuttapolRerkpiboon told media after signing the document to granting franchising rights to PTT Lao in Vientiane this week that Laos is the second Asean country after the successful granting of franchising rights in Cambodia.
“By granting rights of a master franchise of Café Amazon to PTT Lao we aren’t only creating an opportunity to expand our businesses in the region but it will also promote job creation for Lao people as well,” MrAuttapol said.
PTT has an aim to become a regional top brand in Indochina by introducing Café Amazon to a new market in Southeast Asia along with its PTT petroleum products.
Meanwhile the PTT Downstream Petroleum Business Group Chief Operating Officer MrSarunRungkasiri also said that PTT has plans to grant rights of a master franchise of Café Amazon to PTT Myanmar, Philippines, Japan and Oman as well.
“We are looking forward to providing jobs for Lao people as well as contributing to the economic growth of our neighbours with products and services of international standards and reasonable prices,” he said.
MrSarun added that this is one of the initiatives for PTT to promote the recognition of Thai brand ‘Café Amazon’ aiming to become a global brand.
In Laos, many local brands of instant coffee products are locally and regionally recognised such as Sinouk and Dao coffees, however more promotion is needed to be done in a bid to enlarge market shares with other regional brands.
