UMG Lao plans to open new branches in provinces

UMG (Lao) Co., Ltd. plans to expand its business and open new branch offices in other provinces in response to the demands of the market.

UMG (Lao) Co., Ltd. is a leading heavy machinery distribution company in Laos. It was established in 2011 as a distribution and after sales service agent for earth moving machinery.

The company's main office is located in Vientiane and has site service centres in Borikhamxay and Khammuan provinces.

UMG Lao's vision is to become an excellent corporation which delivers customer satisfaction through quality, reliability and speed.

The mission is to provide benefits to customers by delivering quality products and services, continuously improving UMG's competencies and capabilities to achieve superior performance, create mutually beneficial relationships with our stakeholders and prosper with the nation.

Director/CEO of UMG Lao Mr Chalongchai Chayutraphong told Vientiane Times recently that the company imports and distributes heavy construction machinery such as transport trucks, off road trucks, excavators, rock drills and other power generators and air compressors from around the world.

Its imported brand vehicles such as Hitachi excavator, Volvo truck, UD truck, and Foton are very strong and reliable with well regarded reputations around the world.

Most of UMG Lao's customers operate in mining, road construction, hydropower, transportation, general trading and so on. At present UMG Lao's major customers are Phu Bia Mining and the Hongsa power project, he said.

In response to customers' requirements in Laos, the company plans to extend and open more branch offices with suitable workshops in an important business area according to the demands of the market.

This year, we plan to open new branches in Luang Prabang or Champassak province and then expand to other provinces in the future, Mr Chalongchai said.

The company has a total of over 70 staff, of which 80 percent are Lao people who have a lot of experience working in this sector.

To sustain the commercial vehicle business in Laos, UMG Lao has ordered in a huge number of spare parts and set up site service facilities for customers.

Besides this, the company uses advanced technology systems in repairing and taking care of vehicles to ensure the safety for customers.

�Effective work and safety is the most important thing, if there is safety, it will reduce accidents which lead to reduced expenses and overheads,� Mr Chalongchai said.
