Online firm registration to boom in 2017

The rate of enterprises registering online is expected to reach 30 per cent this year, said Tran Thi Hong Minh, head of the Business Registration Management Agency under the Ministry of Planning and Investment.

“This is an encouraging number, showing the determination of the business registration agency,” she added.

Statistics showed that the rate of enterprises registering online nationwide was 14 per cent last year. However, the rate in the fourth quarter was more than 35 per cent, exceeding Government targets.

In terms of cities and provinces, the rate of enterprises registering online in Ha Noi was 18 per cent for the whole year last year and 51 per cent in the fourth quarter.

In HCM City, the rates were 25.4 per cent for the year and 62.1 per cent for the fourth quarter.

Many localities have made efforts to promote online business registration. Of these, Hue and Da Nang are leading in innovating supporting methods and encouraging enterprises to register online, said the agency.

In addition, local authorities have implemented measures to improve the rate of enterprise registration online.

The Ministry of Planning and Investment last year upgraded infrastructure and updated applications allowing online registration with over 100 processes at level 3 or higher, including 95 processes implemented at level 4.

Simultaneously, the ministry made public the entire business registration process as well as the record status on the national information system for business registration.
