Tradition, culture, and soul: Intercontinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resortredefining luxury
InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort brings true luxury not only with its world-standard amenities and services, but also from the deeper Vietnamese soul imbued in every detail that sets it apart.
World class destination
Last April, Singaporean billionaire Brian Cheng held his wedding at a place stolen straight from fairy tales, in the warm embrace of a forest and the deep blue sea. Two hundred guests joined the wedding in an atmosphere befitting of paradise . One year after the wedding, they came back, saying that they are moved by the scenery and that they would definitely come back again.
This place is right in Danang and the host of the wedding was none other than InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort, a work of art from developer Sun Group, which in 2014 and 2015 was chosen by World Travel Awards as the World’s Leading Luxury Resort.
One year after Cheng’s dazzling marriage ceremony, another million-dollar wedding has just been held at the venue, this time among cherry blossoms. The couple booked the two most luxurious areas of the resort for several days for their wedding.
Over the years many billionaires, politicians, and dignitaries chose to stay at the resort, including American billionaire George Soros, former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair, Burmese State Counsellor Aung San Suu Kyi, and former US Secretary of State Colin Powell. InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has also hosted a series of famous events. As host to renowned guests and events, InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort has carved out a place for Danang on the world map of luxury hospitality.
More than luxury
What makes up the appeal of InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort is not only the international-standard amenities and services. The resort redefines luxury by combining these with a genuine Vietnamese soul.
The resort is set on 37 hectares of stepped gardens leading down to a private beach, and each of the 200 rooms and villas guarantees a dramatic view on the crystal clear waters of the East Sea. The design was inspired by the architecture of old Vietnamese palaces and rural cottages. Decorated with wooden furniture and handmade silk and craft art pieces procured from Vietnam’s many localities, every inch of this luxury resort is proof to the genius of star architect Bill Bensley. It is the soul of Vietnam in harmony with the surrounding nature. Luxury does not mean the highest price tag, there is more in the cultural value deep under the surface.
The resort not only impresses with its design and furniture, but also with the experience it brings to visitors. At the La Maison 1888 restaurant, which was voted by CNN as one of the ten most beautiful restaurants in the world, visitors can enjoy food made by one of the top ten chefs of the world, Pierre Gagnaire.
Meanwhile, the title of Asia’s Best Spa at the 2016 World Spa Awards does not fully convey the experience that Harnn Heritage Spa brings visitors and the heaven-and-earth difference separating the spa from the world of spas. The special package Journey to Marble Mountain helps balance the Yin and Yang of the body by utilising all-natural Eastern medicine. Once again, tradition and culture at the core makes up true luxury.
The Vietnamese soul is how Sun Group sets InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort apart. It is the reason the resort has been chosen as the venue for many world events, such as the APEC 2017. It is also the reason any investor is ready to spend millions of dollars to own one or more villas here. What Sun Group does with InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort shows that luxury is not skin deep but lies in the unfathomable depth of culture and tradition.
