Pharma companies collaborate to expand regional market

Viengthong Pharma Co., Ltd of Laos and Thai Meiji Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd have agreed to cooperate to expand the medicinal drugs business in the region.

An agreement was signed yesterday in Vientiane between Viengthong Pharma Co., Ltd Managing Director, Mr Thongpheuane Khantivong and Thai Meiji Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd Managing Director, Mr Akiyoshi Nakasatowith witnessed by officials of both sides.

Under the agreement Meiji Company will supply pharmaceutical, consumer health products to Viengthong Company for sale to hospitals, clinics and pharmacies around the country while veterinary products will target veterinarians, farms and government livestock projects.

Thai Meiji Pharmaceutical Company Limited established a pharmaceutical company with a manufacturing plant located at Ladkrabang Industrial Estate, Bangkok as a joint venture between Thai and Japanese in vestors.

This was the first plant in Thailand to incorporate the entire manufacturing process, from the active pharmaceutical ingredients to the finished products, utilisi ng state-of-the-art Japanese technology in order to distribute its products to domestic and international markets.

The Thai firm distributes a large range of medications to hospitals and pharmacies while its veterinary group products are used in feed mills and farms. The company exports its products to Japan, Korea, China, Indonesia, Malaysia, Vietnam, Singapore, Pakistan, and Ireland.

Meanwhile, Viengthong Pharma Co., Ltd is one of the leading quality pharmaceutical suppliers in Laos, which focuses on medicines, medical equipment, plus consumer health and beauty products. The company also received the international standards certification ISO: 9001.2015 which has allowed them to become trade partners with companies abroad.

Both sides believed that new cooperation agreement would bring mutual benefits to promote sustainable business.
