Laos shares ideas on tourism economy development

Tourism officials have shared their ideas on the economic contribution provided by the sector at the 5th Global Tourism Economy Forum (GTEF) that took place in Macau from October 15-16.

The Lao delegation was led by Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Mr Savankhone Razmountry.

The theme of this year's forum is the growing consumer class, and rethinking and reshaping the future tourism landscape.

According to the forum's website, the GTEF is stepping into its fifth year as a leading global tourism platform where tourism and economy ministers, the world's most influential business leaders, decision-makers and academia come together and discuss how different industries can capitalise on tourism development and contribute to economic growth.

The forum is a comprehensive window into the large China market. Delegates also had the opportunity to gain recognition from government authorities and other global tourism trade leaders, facilitating the development of mutually rewarding relationships.

The GTEF has now successfully established itself as one of the most influential events in the tourism and related industries.
