Hai Duong attracts $200 million foreign investment

Hai Duong Province attracted US$202 million foreign investment since the beginning of 2016, with 15 new investment projects, 31 projects with adjusted capital and total registered capital of $76 million.

As of October 3, the province had a total of 321 foreign investment projects and $6.9 billion registered capital. Hai Duong also approved 43 new domestic investment projects with total capital of VND3,000 billion ($134 million).

Some notable projects in the province are by US' Ford Motor Company, Philippines' Sumidenso Automotive Technologies Asia Corporation, Korea's Hyundai Motor, all significantly contributing to Hai Duong's socio-economic standards.

Le Xuan Hien of Hai Duong Planning and Investment Department acknowledged the Law on Enterprise's positive effects, the government's encouraging policies in supporting businesses and efforts to improve provincial competitive capability as the reasons behind the province's success in attracting foreign investment.

Nguyen Hong Son, member of the Hai Duong Provincial Party Standing Committee, stated the province's objective was to enter the national top 20 most competitive provinces in 2020 through efforts to reduce registration and waiting time for legislative procedures.

Hai Duong aims to increase the number of businesses in the province by 1.5 times in 2020.
