Oil stocks lift market this morning

Oil and gas stocks of PetroVietnam Gas Corp (GAS), PetroVietnam Drilling and Well Service Corp (PVD), PetroVietnam Technical Services Corp (PVS) and PetroVietnam Coating Corp (PVB) boosted the market today.

 

Securities stocks of HCM City Securities Corporation (HCM), Sai Gon Securities Inc. (SSI), Bao Viet Securities Company (BVS) and Sai Gon-Ha Noi Securities Company (SHS) also saw gains.

Sugar stocks of Thanh Cong Tay Ninh JSC (SBT), Bien Hoa Sugar Joint Stock Company (BHS) and Lam Son Sugar Joint Stock Corporation (LSS) rose this morning along with mining and rubber stocks.

Most significantly, cash flow in the morning went towards basic shares of An Phat Plastic & Green Environment JSC (AAA), which rose 9.6 per cent; Vietnam Electric Cable Corporation (CAV), Everpia JSC (EVE) and Hoang Huy Investment Services Joint Stock Company(HHS), rising some 4.4 per cent each; and Lix Detergent Joint Stock Company (LIX), growing by 2 per cent.

On the other hand, blue chips such as Vinamilk (VNM), Vingroup JSC (VIC), Hoa Phat Group (HPG), Hoa Sen Group (HSG) and Masan Group (MSN) experienced a disappointing trading session. Most of them closed at their reference prices or suffered losses.

With 107 gainers and 95 losers, VN-Index rose 1.64 points, or 0.26 per cent, to reach 629.51 points after the morning trading session, while HNX-Index added 0.37 points, or 0.45 per cent, to close at 84.19 points. Market liquidity reached 110 million shares, worth VND1.67 trillion.
