Viet Nam Post Corporation, Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam sign agreement

Viet Nam Post Corporation (VNPost) and Dai-ichi Life Insurance Viet Nam signed a long-term exclusive life insurance agency agreement at a ceremony held on January 18 in Ha Noi.

Under framework of the agreement, Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam will be the exclusive business partner providing life insurance products through the VNPost's network of post offices in 64 provinces all over the country in the next 15 years.

Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam will introduce VNPost products and postal services to its customers while VNPost will also promote the distribution of superior financial protection products offered by Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam to the people through its network of post offices spreading nation-wide.

At the same time, all customers who joined an insurance policy scheme with Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam will enjoy the convenience of paying the insurance premium through the collection services at more than 11,000 current service points of VNPost.

"The co-operation is part of our strategy to diversify distribution channels of Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam in efforts to create opportunities for everyone in Viet Nam to gain access to the company's life insurance products and services especially those living in rural and remote areas," said Chairman of the Member Council of Dai-ichi Life Viet Nam Takashi Fujii.

Chairman of the Member Council of VNPost Do Ngoc Binh said that sustainable development of life insurance through the post office network has become one among VNPost's fundamental services, aiming to facilitate access of life insurance schemes to people in the remote areas, as well as ensuring the education fund, wealth, and increasing income for the Vietnamese.

On the same day, Dai-ichi Life Insurance Viet Nam officially received the amended licence allowing the company to increase its chartered capital from VND1,141 billion (US$72 million) up to VND1,477 billion (approximately $87 million).
