French businesses in Vietnam honored for innovation, integration, adaptability

Four French companies have been honored for their innovation, integration, and adaptability when operating in Vietnam.

The French Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Vietnam (CCIFV) held a ceremony in Ho Chi Minh City on Thursday to reward the French businesses.

The French Business Awards 2016, given by the CCIFV for the third time, were presented to the four French businesses in four categories, including communication, corporate social responsibility, entrepreneurship, and France alumni.

Regarding the Communication category, French carrier Air France won over satellite TV service provider K+ and retailer Decathlon for the company’s ability to tailor its communication campaign to fit the local context at a limited cost and put customers’ stories at the heart of the campaign.

In 2015, Air France flew to 179 destinations in 80 countries, including seven in Vietnam, operated 344 planes, and hired nearly 64,000 employees worldwide.

In the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) category, Decathlon was preferred over hospitality chain Accord and travel agency Exo Travel for its initiative to support external charity actions and to develop its own CSR projects in Vietnam

In the New Entrepreneur category, Ho Chi Minh City-based urban game and event agency Ubiquest was named the winner, leaving behind nominees GEG and Le Petitjournal.com thanks to its ability to conduct a new activity based on original and innovative concepts combined with local cultural features.

Created in 2014 by Nicolas Plesse, Ubiquest’s goal is to organize live-action games and scripted events all over Vietnam for local and international companies, private groups and individuals.

In the France-Alumni category, the award went to French multinational management consulting corporation Capgemini for its human resource policy toward alumni.

According to the jury, Capgemini defeated K+ and Decathlon for developing a comprehensive human resource strategy to encourage France alumni to join their team.

Annually given away by the CCIFV, the French Business Awards are intended to highlight the achievements of French businesspeople and companies in Vietnam and encourage them to showcase their dynamism.
