VIB offers utmost comfort to customers

As of December 21, 2015, the Vietnam International Bank (VIB) became the first bank in Vietnam to introduce online current account and term deposit account opening with activation service at customer’s chosen location without the need to visit a VIB branch.

Both existing and new customers will only need to access ‘My VIB’, the bank’s popular and user friendly mobile app or simply visit VIB’s brand-new Internet Banking website to register and use the service anytime, anywhere.

This new service differentiates VIB from any other bank in Vietnam building on VIB’s vision as Vietnam’s most innovative and customer centric bank.

New customers can now download MyVIB applications (available on iOS system, Android and Windows Phone), or from the VIB website www.vib.com.vn to fill in the registration form and automatically open a current account or term deposit.

A professional team called MOS “Man on scooter” has been set up to serve customers on their request to collect any necessary documents, finalise KYC (Know your customer) and obtain wet signatures.

Customers can then continue to conduct their banking online or for branch service customers can select any branch of preference to serve their future needs.

This service will initially launch in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Existing VIB customers can immediately open a term deposit without providing any further details or personal information.

“With the vision of becoming the most innovative and customer centric bank in Vietnam, VIB continues to invest in digital technology with ongoing efforts to introduce new and innovative products and services to our customers,” said Godfrey Swain, head of Retail Banking at VIB.

“This convenient, fast and secure service is a first in Vietnam and will provide customers with a more flexible financial solution for their lifetime banking needs. Most importantly, this new service will make banking easier and more accessible to Vietnam’s general public,” Swain added.

MyVIB mobile banking app was awarded “Vietnam's Outstanding Innovative Banking Product/Service Award” for 2015.

The award was granted by the International Data Group (IDG) recognising VIB’s innovative approach through the introduction of MyVIB mobile banking app, new website and new VIB Apple Watch app.

It also demonstrates the bank’s efforts to apply advanced innovative digital banking technology, another factor leading to the most recent award won by VIB as ‘Bank of the Year (Vietnam)’ from prestigious London-based magazine The Banker, owned by Financial Times Limited, one of the world's leading business news organisations.
