Toyota Motor Vietnam recalls 3,810 Vios units

Toyota Motor Vietnam (TMV) has begun recalling 3,810 made-in-Vietnam Vios cars to check and replace the inflator module of the front passenger airbag.

In an official announcement on December 22, the TMV said the recall would focus on Vios units produced between September 13, 2007 and December 31, 2008. The free-of-charge replacement would be carried out at the TMV agents nationwide.

In September this year, the TMV recalled 148 imported Corolla cars produced from November 3, 2004, to April 28, 2005. Vios was also in the recall plan at that time but it was delayed due to lack of spare parts from the suppliers.

This campaign is covered by the global recall campaign of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC) for 7,949,000 vehicles of different models.

The vulnerable cars, which were equipped with single-stage passenger airbag inflators designed by Takata Company, have the potential for intrusion of moisture over time.

For further information, the car owners can visit www.toyota.com.vn or call 18001524/0916001524.
